Unfortunately nowadays, the oceans are covered in debris and waste all over the world. In fact, almost 80% of all marine debris consists of plastics. Due to this issue, over 600 species have been affected negatively and are suffering because of the abundance of plastic pollution taking over their homes.

Adidas has decided to take a rather environmentally friendly approach and sell shoes made from ocean plastic in hopes of reducing this fatal problem.

This creation is definitely a win-win situation because not only are you rocking some fresh and newly designed kicks, but you are also recycling at the same time. The perfect look-good-feel good combo. Adidas plans to sell one million pairs each made with an average of eleven plastic bottles.

Working with Parley for the Oceans, Adidas has finalized their ocean plastic sneaker last year and plans on releasing the three new running shoe designs on May 10.

Parley for the Oceans has also partnered with Adidas for the Parley A.I.R Strategy, which is what ultimately turns the ocean plastic and trash into thread. This method is how they have created the new running shoes. In our day and age, this is a brilliant way to bring recycling into a trendy manner.
