The luxury watch brand Rolex has just finalized a deal with the United States Tennis Association that would make them the official long-term timekeeper and timepiece for the prestigious US Open. They ink this deal just in time for the tournament on August 27 to September 9 in Flushing, New York.

This comes as a surprise to the US Tennis world as the USTA already had Citizen Watch Company of America as a partner. However, upon signing a lucrative deal with Walt Disney World Resorts, the company had to drop the tennis association after more than 25 years of partnership.

This is a tremendous deal for Rolex as its always had its sights on the sport of tennis already having Wimble and Australian Open under its belt. The addition of the US Open is slowly making Rolex into a grand slam champion in its own right. The watch company has also inked deals with other prominent tournaments and organizers such as BNP Paribas and Indian Wells.

Rolex’s dedication to tennis can also be gleaned at their more than four decades of sponsoring watch brand ambassadors that are considered absolute heavyweights in the sport such as Roger Federer, Grigor Dmitrov, Caroline Wozniacki and many more.

With a whole new tournament grounds in National Tennis Center that can house 14,000 spectators, this year’s US Open is surely going to have a lot of impact on the watch brand. All of these makes the upcoming tournament so much more interesting and exciting.
