Logitech Founder Daniel Borel Pushing for a Board Chair Change

Computer peripherals and software maker Logitech is caught up in a behind-the-scenes executive drama. The company’s founder, Daniel Borel, is reportedly pushing the company to make a board chair change that would see chairperson Wendy Becker ousted.

Borel believes that Becker’s exit is in the best interest of Logitech and that the company needs someone with more experience in the tech industry. His favorite is Guy Gecht, who served as the company’s interim CEO for a brief period in 2023.

Becker previously announced that they won’t seek re-election in 2025 after serving in her current position since 2019. However, Borel wants to speed things up and has told shareholders in a letter that they should oust her at the upcoming annual general meeting in September.

According to Borel, as Becker already decided to end her involvement with Logitech, she “seemingly has little left to contribute to Logitech as it faces urgent and existential challenges.”

Borel founded Logitech in 1981 and has since served as the company’s chairman and CEO on several occasions. He is currently chairman emeritus of Logitech’s board of directors and owns around a 1.5% stake in the company.

Logitech’s shares dropped by 3.36% early on Monday and have been 9.68% down year-to-date.
