U.S. futures were on the rise on Monday morning, putting themselves on the route to recovery following a three-week slump. Bond yields also rose higher, with the benchmark 10-year Treasury bond standing at 4.3%, near its highest level over the past decade.
The S&P 500 index climbed by 0.5%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average gained 0.7%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite Index edged higher by 0.3%. Stocks in video communication software company Zoom advanced by 1.27% with the company set to release its earnings later in the day. So far this year, the company’s shares have skyrocketed by more than 200%.
Shares in graphics processing unit company Nvidia rose by 2% with its earnings set to be released later in the day as well. Following its decision to cut prices for its EV models in China, Tesla’s stocks rose by 3%. Stocks in rival EV maker Nikola declined by 12% following the resignation of its president of energy, Carey Mendes.
